Storage guides
Small homes are full of narrow gaps — beside the fridge, next to the washer, between a desk and the wall. These guides compare slim carts, narrow cabinets and space-saving storage by their real dimensions, so you can turn those gaps into storage.

Measure the gap first, at its narrowest point. Under about 8 inches, a slim rolling cart is usually the only option, and it rolls out so you can reach everything. Around 8 to 12 inches, a narrow tower or cabinet adds height and storage. If you want clutter out of sight, choose a cabinet with doors; if you need to reach things quickly, choose a cart or open shelves. Anchor anything tall and narrow to the wall.
